Gary/Chicago Airport Seeks Manager

May 12, 2014—The Gary/Chicago International Airport could soon be under new management. AvPORTS, the company contracted by the city to operate and manage the airport, announced this week they will be hiring for several positions, including Airport Manager and Assistant Manager.

In a press release, Oswin E. Moore, AvPORTS President & CEO, said “AvPORTS is committed to attracting the best and brightest from the community to help us run a safe, efficient, and competitive operation at Gary. We look forward to welcoming new individuals passionate about helping us take GYY into the future.”

The airport’s website has links to the job postings, which will be open until May 30. The airport is also in need of a Maintenance Manager, and says it plans to post other job openings in the near future.

AvPORT has also issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for lawn care and landscaping services at the airport. The deadline for the RFP is May 16.
