Gary Police Want Help Seeking Triple-Murder Suspect

June 23, 2013 — Gary Police released the following statement Sunday to Lakeshore Public Media about an overnight shooting that left three people dead and a fourth wounded. Gary Police are asking for public help with the criminal investigation:

“On Sunday June 23, 2013 at approximately 1:00 am Gary Police Dispatch received a call of shots fired with a man down. Upon arrival they found 34 year old Michael Andrews, 27 year old Antonio Dove, and 22 year old Briean Jiles, all deceased from gunshot wounds. A forth subject who was wounded at this location was transported by private auto to the emergency room for his injuries which did not appear to be life threatening. Cpl. Jeff Hornyak, is the lead detective working this case and can be reached at 219-881-1210. No-one is in custody, and detectives will follow on all leads, if anyone has any information please contact Cpl. Hornyak.”

Sunday’s Gary police report shows the following entry about the incident as a “shots fired” call:

“13G034230 Shots Fired 01:01:23 06/23/13 FRENCHER J ACT

Incident Address: 5800 E 13TH PL

Offenses:
WOFF Weapons Offense

Officer’s were dispatched to a shots fired call upon checking the area three gsw
victims were found. GFD was called to the scene along with prompt they stated
they were 10-0.”

Lake County Coroner’s records show that the office was dispatched to 5810 East 13th Place in Gary at 1:45 a.m. today, where at about 2:45 a.m. it pronounced the deaths of 34-year-old Michael Andrews of 1325 Dekalb Street in Gary, 27-year-old Antonio Dove, and 22-year-old Briean Jiles of 1031 Gibson Place, Gary, due to homicide by multiple gunshot wounds.
