Share Tweet Email

September 5, 2013 — Gary police say they are looking today for a 2008 Green Honda CRV with a specialty license plate:  “Fraternal Order of Police.”

Police Corporal Gabrielle King says that license plate, with number FP3939, is on a car stolen at gunpoint from the wife of a Gary police officer.

King says the 51-year-old woman reports that she was at 4th and Clark Road getting into her car last night around 10:30 p.m. when a heavy-set hispanic man and a thin white man approached her asking her for the time.  King says the white suspect then pointed a handgun at the woman and demanded the keys to her car.

King says the woman gave them her car keys and they took her 2008 Green Honda CRV north on Clark Road, also taking her purse, wallet and cellphone which were in the car.

The photo shows an example of Indiana’s Fraternal Order of Police license plate design.  The stolen car’s tag number FP3939.
