Share Tweet Email

Gary Police Chief Wade Ingram reportedly resigned last week.

The Lakeshore’s Hilary Powell reports from City Hall that Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson named 15-year veteran Deputy Chief Larry McKinley as Ingram’s successor  and a former deputy chief, retired Captain Thomas Papadakis, as the new deputy police chief.

The announcement came at City Hall Monday morning, as the mayor said the city is experiencing a series of what the mayor called  “heinous crimes,” including the July 6th shooting death of on-duty Patrolman Jeff Westerfield.
