Share Tweet Email

July 17, 2013 — The Gary Police Department says a hazardous material interfered with traffic today.

Police Corporal Gabrielle King says that at approximately 6:30 a.m. Gary Police and Fire Dispatch received a call in reference to a hazardous leak or spill.

She says that first responders verified a hazardous material spill when they arrived near Cline Avenue and Michigan Street. Corporal King says Lake County’s Haz Mat Team stayed on-the-scene during the morning after morning rush-hour drive time for the clean-up process.

King says northbound Cline Avenue and westbound Michigan are now open and traffic can flow freely.
