Gary, Crown Point Plan 9-11 Remembrance Programs
September 10, 2014 — Gary city officials are once again hosting a special ceremony Thursday morning outside City Hall to remember those who lost their lives at Ground Zero in New York on 9-11 and to honor Gary fire and police personnel for their heroic efforts every day. The program begins at 8 a-m. Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson says she and City Councilman-at-Large Ronald Brewer, Police Chief Larry McKinley, Fire Chief Teresa Everett and the men and women of the city’s Police and Fire Departments will participate in the program… one of several being held across the region to remember 9-11.
The city of Crown Point and the First Methodist Church will host two 9-11 remembrance ceremonies on Thursday at the city’s 9-11 memorial at South and Main Streets. The first ceremony is at 7:30 a.m., and the second will be held at the memorial at 7:30 p.m.
