Share Tweet Email

As a result of budget cuts due to sequestration, the Gary Chicago International Airport is preparing for a potential closure of its manned control tower, tentatively scheduled for April 7.

On Wednesday’s Lakeshore This Morning, Steve Walsh talked about the airport’s options with Keith Benman, Business Writer with the Times of Northwest Indiana and Ross Amundson, a long-time member of the Gary airport board.

During the interview Amundson announced that the airport has sent a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration, despite not taking action at their board meeting Monday.
