Garcia 2 HRs, leads Danks, White Sox over Rays
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Avisail Garcia hit two home runs, John Danks took a no-hit bid into the sixth inning and the Chicago White Sox beat Tampa Bay 10-5 Sunday in the Rays’ home finale.
Winning for the first time in 10 starts since July 25, Danks gave up two runs on two hits in six innings. Brandon Guyer’s double with one out in the sixth was the first hit for Tampa Bay, which finished with its worst home record since 2002.
Garcia’s first homer started a four-run second against Nathan Karns. Marcus Semien added a three-run homer in the inning.
Garcia led off the sixth with his seventh homer of the season, starting a six-run inning. Rookie Jose Abreu singled home a run for his 105th RBI, giving the White Sox a 10-0 lead.
