This edition of “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” originally aired on 12-16-14

Musical Guest:  FRESH HOPS

In the studio for this episode was musical guest were – Joe Marcinek (guitar/vocals), Ian Gill (bass/vocals), and Kevin Mardirosian (drums)  – three quarters of the Northwest Indiana-based jam band FRESH HOPS.  Missing that evening was member Stephan Cook (violin/vocals), although Cook did add a few comments via text and relayed by Marcinek.

The guest appearance was to celebrate the release of Fresh Hops’ debut CD – “EVERYONE ACT NORMAL.”   Fresh Hops’ sound has steadily evolved over the seven years, since the first incarnation of this hard-working band came together.   Their sound is the realization by the four musicians,  that jazz, soul, bluegrass, classical, metal and jam rock can be successfully blended together to create a unique sound and remarkable tunes.

Along with featuring a trio of recorded songs from the new CD, the trio of the lads performed a pair of brand new live songs slated for their next album.  This is a band with great potential that has already toured to many states across the nation building their fan base, but remain rooted in Northwest Indiana and Chicagola nd.   A band every music fan in the Midwest needs to know.
