FBI Makes 3 More Boston Marathon Bombings Arrests
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has three more arrests for the fatal April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. The agency identified its three new suspects in federal court complaints filed May 1, 2013.
As part of its Tuesday court filing, the FBI shared a photo showing opened, emptied fireworks found in primary bombing suspect 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s dormitory room. Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov are charged with conspiring to destroy the evidence, among other offenses as two of three men arrested and charged May 1, 2013 in connection with the Boston Marathon bombing investigation.
19-year-old Kadyrbayev and 19-year-old Tazhayakov, both of New Bedford, were charged in a criminal complaint with conspiracy to obstruct justice by conspiring to destroy, conceal, and cover up tangible objects belonging to suspected marathon bomber Tsarnaev, including a laptop computer and backpack containing fireworks. The FBI also says 19-year-old Robel Phillipos of Cambridge was charged with willfully making materially false statements to federal law enforcement officials during a terrorism investigation.
