Executive Search Continues With New Round Of Interviews
February 18, 2015 — Lakeshore Public Media staff — The Lake County solid waste management district’s executive director search committee will meet Thursday to look over the eight resumes they received and to get ready for interviews next month.
County Commissioner Gerry Scheub heads up the search committee. He says they plan to interview six or seven candidates in private during the first week of March. Then — Scheub says a special meeting of the full 27-member board will be held the following week to interview the three finalists. A new executive director will be chosen at the regular March board meeting.
The board dismissed Jeff Langbehn late last year and assistant director Jeanette Romano has been acting as the interim executive director.
Scheub says three candidates from the last round of applicants are up for review — Monroe County solid waste district director Larry Barker, Lake County’s current waste district attorney Clifford Duggan and Buckeye, Arizona solid waste-air quality director John Minear. Minear pulled out of the running last month, but re-submitted his resume after the board adjusted their vacancy announcement to advertise a higher salary than before. There is also a candidate from India — who Scheub says is also qualified for the position.
