Etling Named Starting Quarterback
October 2, 2013 – Purdue freshman Danny Etling has taken over the No. 1 quarterback position and will be the starter when the Boilermakers return to action Oct. 12 against Nebraska.
Coach Darrell Hazell made the announcement following Wednesday’s practice.
Etling completed 19 of 39 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions in relief of starter Rob Henry last week against Northern Illinois.
Henry, who started the first five games at quarterback, now moves to defense, where the fifth-year senior will be tried at safety. Hazell didn’t discount Henry moving back to offense and playing running back or receiver.
