February 5, 2014 — A local school corporation is seeking new top leader and calling on the community to help.

The School City of East Chicago is holding two community meetings in February to hear advice from the public on the system’s next superintendent.

The board of school trustees will hear public comment immediately following the board’s regular business meeting.

In January the Indiana Department of Education gave the corporation a failing grade for poor performance. The organization is one of only four school corporations statewide to get an “F” from State Superintendent, Glenda Ritz.
