June 21, 2013 — Indiana State Police say a law enforcement pursuit ended with a crash at 93rd Avenue and Main/Taft Street in Crown Point, within view of Lake County’s jail.

ISP says the crash involved 35-year-old Tennessee driver Jennifer M. Clark who eluded police in a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, after Munster Police pursued for for alleged check fraud around noon Thursday. Police say she fled along 45th Street until turning south on Cleveland Street, which becomes Taft Street in Merrillville, then Main Street in Crown Point, where Clark’s vehicle crashed at the 93rd Avenue & Main Streets intersection, hitting two other stationary cars after swerving to avoid police “stop sticks” placed on the roadway.

ISP says Munster police arrested Clark in the middle of the intersection where the Equinox stopped after impact. That intersection hosts Lake County courts and the County’s jail.

ISP says two other drivers, 38-year-old Elizabeth Jordan and 53-year-old Marsha Marlow–both from Griffith, along with Marlow’s passenger 57-year-old Sandra Kelley went to Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Crown Point with non-life-threatening injuries.
