Gary’s Mayor Planning For Airport Takeoff

August 27, 2013 — While its airport director is resigning his position, the Gary/Chicago International Airport has a set of proposals about ways to develop the facility.

A team of flight experts and the City of Gary are reviewing proposals this week from a group of business interests to invest in the airport and its surrounding area.  Renetta Dubose Spoke With Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson about the process and how it will help fulfill the city’s vision for Chicago’s third airport.

The public-private partnership, or P3, proposals should be reviewed by committee Friday.
