Dineen to help ‘Hawks

CHICAGO (AP) — Kevin Dineen, who coached Canada’s women’s hockey team to a gold medal at the Sochi (SOH’-chee) Olympics, has returned to the NHL as an assistant with the Chicago Blackhawks. Dineen was head coach of the Florida Panthers for two-plus seasons before being fired last fall.

Dineen was teammates with Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville from 1984 to 1990 when they played for the Hartford Whalers.
