Democratic Leader Wants GOP To Steer Clear Of Marriage Debate

Ahead of the official opening day of the General Assembly tomorrow, Regionally Speaking Host Steve Walsh talks to House Democratic Leader Scott Pelath about the hot button issues for the session including a voter referendum outlawing same sex marriage and civil unions;  taking an expanded role in the implementation of the Affordable Care Act; and entering the debate among top state education officials.

Gov. Mike Pence is calling on the National School Board Association to intervene in the dispute between State School board and superintendent of Public instruction Glenda Ritz. We talk to the organization’s executive director.

We’ll get the latest on the aftermath of yesterday’s storms with NIPSCO as well as look at the utilities’ long-range plans.

We’ll also look at what communities are doing in other parts to Indiana to limit the amount of foreclosed homes being turned into rental property.
