DEA agents visit Bengals in New Orleans about meds
(AP) — The Cincinnati Bengals say federal drug enforcement officials visited the team Sunday to check on how its medical staff handles prescription drugs. Team officials said today that Drug Enforcement Administration agents in New York visited the Bengals at an airport in New Orleans and asked to see registrations and paperwork for controlled substances being carried by Cincinnati’s medical staff. No problems were found.
The unannounced inspections are part of an investigation sparked by claims from former players that teams dispensed prescription drugs improperly for decades.
