CVA Board Learns About Air Show Cancellation Costs

August 22, 2014 — The cancellation of this year’s South Shore Air Show cost its organizers more than $61-thousand.

South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority President-CEO Speros Batistatos told his board of directors on Thursday that most of that loss was in advertising, but they managed to shift some of it over to promote other summer events.

The early summer rainfall left the fields around Fair Oaks Farms in Jasper County too wet to allow anyone to come down and watch the aircraft.  Batistatos says that just means that 2015 will be the first year for Fair Oaks Farms to host the Air Show.
