Criminal Justice One Major Issue Coming Before Lawmakers
January 2, 2015 — Indiana lawmakers convene next week for the 2014 legislative session, and money is at the top of their agenda. This year is a budget year—meaning they need to agree on a state budget for the next two years. One of the areas they will consider funding is the overhaul of Indiana’s criminal justice system.
As Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Gretchen Frazee reports, the money is needed to beef up local programs so ultimately fewer people are sitting in the state’s prisons.
