Share Tweet Email

November 20, 2013 — Lake County Coroner Merrilee Frey is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a white or hispanic man found this month with stab wounds, yet without an identity.

Gary Police reported finding the man’s body November 4, 2013 in the vicinity of 2700 block of Maryland Street in Gary, where his legs were protruding from the trunk of a burned car.

The Coroner’s Office says he was wearing a red hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and a pair of Diesel tennis shoes.  It says the man weighed 147 pounds, at 5’6” height, with brown hair.

Though the original death notification report listed the man’s race as “black,” the Coroner’s Office says the man is white or Hispanic, and his only personal property found was a bronze whistle and an Acura key fob with an attached Ace Hardware house key.

It invites any related information leading to this person’s identity to the Lake County Coroner’s Office at 1-219-755-3265.
