Colts passing game scuffles a bit without Wayne
November 8, 2013 (AP) – Even though they rallied for a win, the Indianapolis Colts struggled at times in their first game without receiver Reggie Wayne.
Wayne is out for the season with a torn right ACL, and the 13-year veteran’s presence was missed in a 27-24 win against the Houston Texans.
Andrew Luck, one of the most efficient passers in the league the first half of the season, completed just 18 of 40 passes against Houston.
T.Y. Hilton caught seven passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns last week while splitting time between the slot and outside receiver positions.
But Indy still is looking for more consistency from the rest of the receiving group heading into Sunday’s home game against the St. Louis Rams.
