Colts’ defensive plan finally taking shape
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Robert Mathis and Chuck Pagano like what they’ve seen so far from Indianapolis’ defense.
It’s playing hard, fast and physical.
Yes, there’s still plenty to prove. After limiting their first two preseason opponents to 91 yards and no touchdowns in about 2½ quarters, the Colts could face their most daunting preseason test Saturday — if Drew Brees plays for the high-powered Saints.
But Mathis likes what he has seen.
He says that because the Colts are more comfortable and confident in coach Pagano’s 3-4 system, they’re playing faster and the results have shown up on the game tape.
