Colts Add 2 to Ring of Honor
October 8, 2013 – The Indianapolis Colts’ Ring of Honor has gained a double dose of historic luster with the additions of Eric Dickerson and Marshall Faulk.
Owner Jim Irsay announced the decision to add two of the most prolific running backs in club history, each of whom has a bust in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Faulk and Dickerson will have his name added to the Ring of Honor at Lucas Oil Stadium on Dec. 15 when the Colts host the Houston Texans.
Faulk ranks No. 3 in club history in rushing with 5,320 yards and Dickerson No. 4 with 5,194. Each was voted to three Pro Bowls during their Colts career.
Dickerson, acquired in a blockbuster trade on Halloween 1987, led the NFL in rushing in his first full season with the Colts (1,659). Faulk, the second overall pick in the 1994 draft, led the league in total yards from scrimmage in 1998 with what at the time was a club-record 2,227.
Dickerson, who ranks No. 7 in NFL history with 13,259 rushing yards, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
Faulk, whose 19,154 total yards from scrimmage rank No. 4 in league history, was enshrined in 2011.
Faulk and Dickerson are the 10th and 11th additions to the Ring of Honor.
