Chi-Town Troubadour Al Rose Visits Live On The Lakeshore with Tom Lounges
This edition of “MIDWEST BEAT with TOM LOUNGES” originally aired on TUESDAY, DEC. 2nd @ 6pm CST
This episode’s musical guest is — Chicago-based singer/songwriter/recording artist AL ROSE
In-studio guest AL ROSE has released six albums to date with 2012’s “Sad Go Lucky” being his latest. Rose’s albums have received extensive airplay on AAA and Americana stations throughout the US, garnering the gifted region native plenty of critical praise. Rose balances a career as both a solo performer and as the band leader of the Chicago group, The Transcendos.
Rose has been a longtime personal favorite of show host Tom Lounges and three of his albums have made Lounges’ annual Northwest Indiana Times newspaper year end list — “Regional Top 10 Albums of the Year.” This guest spot marks the first radio appearance of Rose in the Lakeshore Studio where he chatted about his musical career, his early ’80s NW Indiana connection, his travels to Europe, and more.
Along with playing songs from Rose’s CD catalog, the artist performed a trio of live tunes on air to the delight of both the show’s listening audience and a large group of area youth who were taking a tour of the radio station at the time of Rose’s guest appearance. The kids joined Rose and Lounges in the studio during the last 15 minutes of the live broadcast and can be heard applauding enthusiastically when Rose performed.
