Charter School Pioneer To Speak In Gary Dec. 8th
December 4, 2014 — One of the nation’s leading experts in education reform is coming to Gary next week to offer his thoughts on the subject.
Dr. Howard Fuller, a well-known education and civil rights activist will be speaking at 21st Century Charter School at Gary on Monday, December 8th. He is the former superintendent of the Milwaukee Public Schools and started his own charter school as well. His is also Director of the Institute for the Transformation of Learning at Marquette University.
He also recently published his autobiography “No Struggle, No Progress,” his life story chronicling some of the most important moments in American history.
The Lakeshore’s Chris Nolte talked at length with Dr. Fuller on Thursday morning, ahead of his visit, actually his second to Gary, Indiana of his education and civil rights career. Here is the conversation.
