Casual Fridays – October 24, 2014
Happy National Bologna Day!
With Election Day 2014 now on our radar, Jerry and Karen have endless questions for candidates running for public offices across the region. Most of the questions, though, have nothing to do with their policies, promises and campaigning and everything to do with their flaws, values and personal lives.
On today’s show, Jerry and Karen ambush, er chat with Deb Porter. Deb is running for Indiana State Representative against incumbent Ed Soliday. (We also invited Mr. Soliday, but he had a scheduling conflict, so an open invitation has been offered to him for a future show.)
Jerry also has a heartwarming tale about 16-year-old Joey Sparks of Hobart who was diagnosed last year with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Joey helped raise money through his family’s Ford dealership to get West Side High School new helmets and equipment.
Later in the show, the dynamic duo interview Megan, one-half of the Twin Sailors act from the Cirque Italia Aquatic Spectacular Show, coming to the Southlake Mall, today thru Sunday (its premier presentation starts tonight at 7:30 pm).
Cirque Italia features America’s FIRST touring water stage, with 35,000 gallons of water that dances and cascades while acrobats, hand-balancers, and aerialists defy gravity and bring imagination to life. Lakeshore listeners are given a preview of the show.
Plus, hear a sampling of YOUR voice mail calls to Jerry in this week’s “Are you calling ME?” segment, and this week’s Mondagreen (song lyric screw-up): ‘The Line” by Phish.
