On today’s show, Jerry and Karen talk with a local mother, Lydia Addison, who’s in the battle of her life over custody of her two daughters, Saige (13) and Madalyn (9). They presently live with their father out-of-state. They were unjustly taken from the custody of their loving mother in August 2012, right before they were to start the next school year at Victory Christian Academy in Valparaiso, IN, where they had been attending since 2006. Lydia is at her wit’s end over what to do to get her girls back home. She and her close friend, Rose Murphy-Gordon, join Jerry and Karen in the studio.

Also, the white-hot issue of the NFL and its ongoing off the field woes is tackled. Jerry and Karen talk about the newly-revealed link between the NFL and domestic violence. The two have surely been in the same huddle since the league’s earliest days, but simply hidden away in a playbook the public rarely sees.

And watch out for Jerry and Karen this weekend! The team will be serving as celebrity judges at the Downtown Hammond Council’s 9th Annual Bizarre Bazaar on Saturday, and they chat with the organization’s President about what Lakeshore listeners should look for at the always-bizarre bazaar.

As for voice mails? Yeah, Jerry gets a few…dozen each week. This week’s “Are You Callin’ Me?!” segment features one woman’s voice dripping with anger, another respectfully raising a question over higher-profile funeral proceedings, and more that always, of course, bring a few interesting surprises.

All that and more in this week’s Casual Fridays.
