It’s our Valentine’s Day special! Love is in the air! (For most of us anyways… It is Friday the 13th, after all.)

Is Cupid stupid? Most people have a decisive stance on Valentine’s Day, which lands on Saturday this year. Either it’s a warm, mushy excuse to proudly fly your romance flag or it’s a commercialized Hallmark holiday that means nothing at all. One thing is for sure: It’s nearly impossible to avoid it. Flower deliveries. Love songs. Office flirting. Retail sales. Booked restaurants. Sensual overtones. Sexual jokes. You know the routine, even though the day should be an exception to your romance routine.

There’s also today’s perfectly-timed release of the much anticipated film, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” starring a hunky actor, a hot actress and two hours of R-rated foreplay for many movie-goers. The problem is that Valentine’s Day magnifies and amplifies a timeless truth: It typically means different things for men versus women.

On today’s show, we’ll offer Lakeshore listeners a Valentine’s Day primer by talking with experts on romance, relationships and gift-giving in the Digital Age. And there’s even a Valentine’s Day Surprise in-store that you won’t want to miss on this jam-packed heart-shaped special!
