Busy night of on ice action
(AP) — Two four-win teams are facing off tonight in Boston as the Bruins entertain the Islanders. New York is 4-2 on the season while Boston is 4-4. This is the first of three games between the clubs this season. Last year the New Yorkers won two of three.
Two more four-win teams are meeting this evening in Nashville as the Predators take on the Blackhawks. This is their second meeting of the season with Chicago winning on Oct. 18 2-1 in overtime. The Preds a year ago won three of five from the ‘Hawks.
The first of three this season between the Penguins and Red Wings is being played tonight in Detroit. Following this game they won’t meet again until Feb. 11. The Pens took two of the games last season.
A year ago the Canucks swept all three games from the Blues. Tonight in St. Louis they play the first of three games this season.
Arizona is looking to snap a two-game losing streak tonight with a game at Minnesota. This is the first of their three meetings this season.
Carolina is winless this season. The Hurricanes enter tonight’s game at Calgary with a mark of 0-3-2 while the Flames are 4-3-1.
In Los Angeles the Stanley Cup champion Kings are playing host to the Sabres and in San Jose the Sharks are entertaining the Blue Jackets.
