Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter DENNY LAINE — part of the star-studded British Invasion 50th Anniversary Tour coming to Chicago on March 7th at The City Winery — guests tonight on “Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges.”

Laine began his musical journey as a co-founding member of THE MOODY BLUES and was vocalist, guitarist and songwriter on that group’s 1964 debut album, which featured the Top 10 U.S. radio hit, “Go Now.”

Laine went on to co-found WINGS with Paul McCartney and was featured on every album and every tour that stadium packing group ever did.  Laine contributed songwriting, lead and backing vocals and was a multi-instrumentalist with Wings.

Denny will talk about his Moody roots, side projects like The Electric String Band and Ginger Baker’s AirForce, and his years as  Paul McCartney’s right hand man as tunes from throughout Laine’s colorful career are featured.
