Ball State Responds to Earn Win in Opener
August 30, 2013 – Muncie, IN Ball State ripped off 21 consecutive points to open the third quarter and came back from a 12-point deficit to earn a 51-28 opening-night win against the Redbirds at Scheumann Stadium. The defense locked in, allowing 37 yards after halftime before the final drive, and receiver Willie Snead busted a pair of long plays to finish with 164 yards and two scores.
Things looked dire early when Ball State fell behind 21-9 in the second quarter, including a missed extra point and field goal. But after that, it was all Ball State.
