Baby Jesus Outfitted With GPS Device

Share Tweet Email

December 18, 2014 — FRANKLIN (AP) — The baby Jesus is getting a tracking device.

A statue of the newborn Jesus recently stolen and then returned to a central Indiana retirement home will soon be equipped with a GPS monitor.

New York-based BrickHouse Security is donating several GPS monitors to the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin that will be put inside the Jesus statue and the home’s other Nativity figurines.

The 2-foot-long baby Jesus statue was stolen from the Masonic Home in Franklin on Dec. 7 and then returned four days later.

BrickHouse Security spokesman Michael Stolyar tells The Indianapolis Star  the company decided to make the donations after reading about the statue’s plight. He says BrickHouse runs a “GPS Jesus” program that’s been loaning satellite-tracking equipment to U.S. churches and nonprofits for about nine years.
