Autopsy Pending For Ricky Kimble
August 7, 2013 — Indiana State Police say an autopsy is pending for a LaPorte man whose body was found by a highway mowing crew.
ISP says 50-year-old Ricky L. Kimble had been missing since Saturday, until his body was found in a grassy ditch along Interstate 94 by a contractor from a mowing crew yesterday afternoon.
State Police says that’s when from the Indiana State Police and LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department went to the scene approximately one mile west of the Portage exit on I-94 east bound, at the 18.1 mile marker.
Police says Kimble was last seen Saturday, August 3rd, and his family reported him missing to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department on Monday, August 6, 2013.
While cause of death is pending an autopsy at South Bend Memorial Hospital, police are asking anyone with information who might have seen Kimble walking on I-80/94 interstate from late Saturday, August 3rd evening until early Tuesday, August 6th, to contact Indiana State Police Detective Brian Kubiak at 219-696-6242 or LaPorte County Sheriff’s Detective Ron Heeg at 219-326-7700.
ISP says Kimble was wearing brown shorts, a white tank top, tan boots, and carrying a black backpack. Kimble is a black man with a shaved head, 6’ 1” and 258 pounds.
