January 23, 2015 — FOWLER (AP) — Investigators say three arson fires were set in Benton County within two hours.

The Journal and Courier reports the fires were reported early Wednesday starting at 4:30 a.m. Fowler Fire Chief Bill Burton says Boswell firefighters were sent to an intentionally set barn fire.

Burton says about a half hour later, Earl Park firefighters were dispatched to a shed fire at an abandoned house. And at about 6:40 a.m. Fowler firefighters responded to a blaze at a building across the street from the Benton County Courthouse.

Fowler Police Chief Dennis Rice says that building houses the prosecutor’s office, law offices and a commodities trading company.

Officials say they found a broken window and accelerant at the office building. Police don’t have suspects but state and federal officials are investigating.
