It was announced late yesterday that The Arc of Northwest Indiana will shut down its 22 supervised living group homes and move more than 90 residents to other facilities. In recent weeks, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration became aware of health and safety issues. Regionally Speaking Host Steve Walsh talked to John Dickerson with Arc of Indiana, who said the NWI board attempted to fix the problems but, in the end, they could not move quickly enough to stop FSSA from pulling its disabled clients. He started the conversation with FSSA Communications Director Jim Gavin.
