October 18, 2013 — Another Illinois company is moving across the state line to  Lake County.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation said medical supplies wholesaler MAC Medical Supply Company, Inc. is going to relocate its warehouse and shipping operations from Tinley Park to Munster and create up to 40 new jobs by 2016.

The company will invest $1.6-million to lease, renovate and equip a new 75,000 square foot facility at 9200 Calumet Avenue and be in business there by next August.

MAC Medical’s CEO Millie Maddocks says they decided to move to Munster because of lower property and payroll taxes, a favorable corporate environment and a stable workforce.

The town of Munster supports the project, as it has the Land O’Frost corporate headquarters project that broke ground this month.  That company is moving from Lansing.

The IEDC offered MAC Medical Supply Company, Inc. up to $250,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans.
