9/11 Victim’s Sister Involved in Detainees’ Trial
September 17, 2013 — A local hospital executive says she feels hopeful the trial might soon take place for the five men accused of killing her brother in the September Eleventh attacks on America in 2001.
Denise Dillard recently returned from Guantanamo Bay Naval Base where she and other families of victims like her brother Eddie, attended one of dozens of hearings for the alleged terrorists in a US military court.
The United States has charged five prisoners with 3000 counts of murder for crashing passenger planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field.
Denise Dillard spoke with Lakeshore News Tonight’s Jodi Juhl to talk about what she has dealt with since the attacks killed her brother and where she goes from here, with a tentative trial date in her brother’s case for July 2014.
She also went to New York last week on the anniversary of the nations September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the United States.
