Clock Change Adds Hour of Alcohol Sales

October 30, 2013 — When clocks get reset this weekend in Indiana, they’ll allow another hour of alcoholic beverage sales.

The Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission said this week that alcoholic beverage sales may continue until 3:00 a.m. Sunday, November 3, 2013.

It says because daylight saving time changes clocks to 1:00 a.m. at 2:00 a.m. on November 3, “alcoholic beverage outlets will have one additional hour during which they may serve or sell alcoholic beverages on this date.  Pursuant to Indiana law, they must still cease sales at 3:00 a.m.”

Indiana ATC notes that Indiana has observed daylight saving time since April 2006.
