Family Robbed in Crown Point Home

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is asking for public help to solve a Friday armed robbery involving a Crown Point family held captive inside its own home. The following information comes directly to Lakeshore from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department:

On Friday, April 19, 2013, at approximately 6:52 pm, Lake County Police officers responded to a home invasion in the 10300 block of Nelson Street in Crown Point. The homeowner … stated he and his family were at home in their residence when three male black subjects opened the front door and walked into his residence. Two of the suspects were wearing ski masks. Weapons (hand guns) were displayed. The suspects demanded that each family member surrender their cell phones and wallets. They were then ordered into the upstairs bathroom of the residence. There they remained with one of the suspects guarding the bathroom door. The other two suspects ransacked the home.
The Lake County Police Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene.
